Hi All,

1. Players need to be aware that from next year they will need to download forms from the ASADA web site in regards to any exception for illegal substances http://www.asada.gov.au/substances/therapeutic_use_exemptions.html this form needs to be completed and signed off by the relevant bodies, the AEBF can no longer grant exception

2. Australian Junior Championships will be held at the Glenorchy Football Club from Sunday 7th March to Saturday 13th March 2010 (Some details have already been sent to States / Territories on this event – when names are required, accommodation in area etc)

3. We will be taking a team of 6 under 18 players from the Australian Under 18 Championships to England to the World Championships

4. Burt Klubal – Victoria has been appointed ‘A’ Grade umpire status

5. Under 21’s at Australian level have been removed all together, resolved the States / Territories do not wish to support this event

6. Mid-Year Meeting will be Saturday July 17th 2010 – Adelaide – Information/ Venue will be forwarded in due course

7. Dates for Nationals will be Monday 18th October (Opening) to Friday October 29th (Dinner) – AGM Saturday October 30th / Executive Sunday October 31st . It is also proposed to run an open money knockout the weekend prior to the nationals starting (Oct 16th / 17th) Venue will be Empire Pool Lounge – Hopefully accommodation packages / venue etc will be known in December – Margaret will keep us informed

8. AEBF lottery – Tickets will be out by early March and drawn June 3rd 2010 – Cheryl Congram will be the raffle organiser

9. Hall Of Fame submissions are due by the mid-year meeting to the AEBF secretary with all supporting documentation (Photos, bio of achievements etc)

10. $3,000.00 Affiliation is payable by the 15th July 2010

11. If there is an International Masters event in 2010 the first option will be going to the Australian players selected

12. OZ Pool – As per the presentation at the National Championships - States / Territories will be contacted by OZ Pool in regards to securing venues etc. All States / Territories have received information on this proposal via email from the AEBF on the 10/11/2009

13. Cue Sports on line as per the presentation by Peter Worth at the National Championships should also be going ahead, but I believe to date no further information has been received on this proposal

14. Joe will be working on the CL&S contract with Ray Atwell and we will be trying to get more product in to the contact, especially spotted cue balls. There is also a chance we will receive some money from a plaque system on tables sold by Trueline that are made to Australian Eightball Championships standard. New Playing Rules are also being followed up in conjunction with Trueline. Besides that all is good in regards to relationship with CL&S and Ttrueline

15. States / Territories to assist the AEBF with collection of monies from players in Australian 8ball team – Remind players when payments are due, follow up with players to see if they have made payment etc – All States / Territories have received letters the same as what the players received so they know all the dates / information etc

16. Doug will be working on Duty Statements for Team Managers – Hopefully we will receive his by the end of December. Doug will also be tidying up or member protection polices etc and once completed these will be placed on the AEBF web site

17. There will also be a fine clause put into the AEBF by-laws. The main reason for the fine clause is to remind States / Territories they must attend all meetings of the AEBF (Mid-Year meetings, AGM, Executive meetings and any other meeting they may be required to attend). States Territories should be aware the Mid-Year meeting starts at approx 10.00am and delegates should schedule time of meeting until at least 6.00pm on the day of that meeting. The AGM is scheduled to start at 10.30am and is scheduled until at least 6.00pm on the day of the meeting. The AEBF Executive meeting starts at 10.00am and delegates on this committee should schedule the time of meeting to end not before 2.00pm

18. Juniors – Under 18 players who make the Australian Under 18 Junior Team to compete at the World Championships need to be notified NOW – That they will need to pay $3,500.00 by the 31st March 2010. This is so they are in line with the senior players in regards to payments. So any player that is a chance to make the Under 18 team should know this information NOW

19. Draw for Nationals

1 SA v 2 VIC

3 Tasmania v 4 Northern Territory

5 ACT v 6 NSW

7 WA v 8 QLD

Hopefully I have covered most points from the AGM / Executive meeting, if you have anything in particular that you believe is not covered, please contact me ASAP and I will follow up

All the Best to all for Xmas and the New Year

Regards,

Greg Dingle
